Sports Massage

Description

Sports massage supports training, performance, and recovery. Whether you're a competitive athlete, a weekend warrior, or getting back into the gym after a break, your registered massage therapist uses focused techniques such as deeper work, stretching, and recovery oriented strokes, matched to your sport and your training calendar.

Is this right for you?
Book a sports massage if you're training for something, managing a demanding physical routine, or feeling the specific tightness your sport produces: runner's calves and hips, a golfer's back, a hockey player's groin and shoulders. Our St. Albert team includes therapists with a sports therapy focus and real experience treating sports injuries.

What to expect
Tell your therapist what you train and when your next event is. Pre-event work tends to be lighter and stimulating; between training blocks, expect deeper recovery focused treatment, often with assisted stretching. You'll get honest input about what your body is telling us.

Session lengths and rates

Common questions
Sports massage or deep tissue, which one? They overlap, but sports massage is organized around your activity and goals (performance, recovery, event prep), while deep tissue is organized around specific chronic tension. If you train regularly, book sports.
When should I schedule around a race or game? Light work is fine 1-2 days before an event; save deeper treatment for at least 3-4 days out, or for after.
