Relaxation (Swedish) Massage

Description

A relaxation massage, often called Swedish massage, uses long, flowing strokes and light to moderate pressure to calm the nervous system, ease everyday muscle tension, and give your body a genuine chance to reset. It's the treatment to choose when you don't have a specific injury; you're simply carrying more stress than you'd like.

Is this right for you?
Choose a relaxation massage if you're feeling run down, sleeping poorly, holding tension in your shoulders or jaw, or you simply want an hour that belongs entirely to you. If you're dealing with a specific injury or chronic pain, a therapeutic or deep tissue massage may serve you better. If you're not sure, book this or a therapeutic massage and your RMT will adjust on the table.

What to expect
Your registered massage therapist will check in about pressure and preferences before you begin. You'll undress to your comfort level and stay draped throughout. Most clients leave our St. Albert clinic feeling noticeably lighter, and many sleep better that night.

Common questions
Can a relaxation massage be covered by insurance? Yes. All our massages are performed by registered massage therapists, so extended health benefits typically apply, and we direct bill most providers.
How often should I book? For general stress and tension, many clients find every 3-4 weeks keeps them ahead of it. There's no wrong answer; even an occasional session helps.
